Our specialist skills are maintained through continual operational experience. Each year we add more achievements to our portfolio, but there are a few particularly worth mentioning:
- Retrieval of an executive Lear Jet from the Republic of Congo during the uprising in 1998 on behalf of Lloyd's of London. Negotiations were carried out directly with President Kabila;
- Threat & crisis management for major organisations such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, BHP Australia, Sony Music worldwide, and others;
- All corporate asset protection for BHP Australia in Algeria;
- Successful anti-counterfeit investigation in Turkey on behalf of Caterpillar Europe; it resulted in a closure of two factories;
- Retrieval of a cargo vessel held hostage for two years in Nigeria, with four senior crew officers on board. Operation was carried out whilst under attack from local militia; on behalf of the International Maritime Bureau (London);
- Successful prevention of corporate espionage attacks by designing security systems, both technical and physical; overseeing disaster recovery plans for a major corporation based in London, New York and the Middle East (name cannot be disclosed at this stage due to an existing confidentiality agreement);
- A three year contract with Mercedes Benz for the training of Whitehall security drivers for the deployment of civilians to hostile zones;
- Design and implementation of annual foreign travel security policy worldwide for prominent private and corporate clients;
- Co-ordination of clients' numerous foreign visits, including those to European and Arab royal families and US Presidential families. Liaison with security representatives for all visitors: Scotland Yard, SO14 Royal Protection, Secret Service USA, SPHP (France), SO1 Specialist Protection UK, Security Agencies in South America & Russian States;
- Running security for major governmental functions where guests included: President George Bush Senior, Prince Charles, John Major - former Prime Minister UK, Collin Powell - Secretary of State USA, Senator Mitchell - Senior Senator USA, Queen Noor of Jordan and all Middle Eastern Royal Families, etc.;
- Prevention of several incursion attempts at clients' properties;
- Security for major hotels in Bahrain, such as The Gulf Hotel, Le Royal Meridien (now Ritz-Carlton), and the Hilton. Development and implementation of integrated security, from designing up-to-date physical and electronic security systems to selecting security teams; design of the hotels' emergency standing procedures; training of all Heads of Departments, from day-to-day security to crisis management;
- Planning and implementation of a major investigation tracking paedophilia routes and child trafficking on behalf of an American governmental organisation;
- All operational training of the military and Special Force units for the government of Bahrain, including that during domestic street disturbances in 1993-94.
All these services and operations were run or directed by Christopher Newman - Head of Security.
