Glamis Castle
Glamis Caslte is a true place of legends and fairytales. Family home of the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne and a royal residence since 1372, childhood home of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, birthplace of Her Royal Highness The Princess Margaret and legendary setting for Shakespeare's famous play 'Macbeth', what else can be more inspiring?
Glamis Castle is the royal house that has it all; whether you are interested in ghosts, beautiful gardens, corporate dinner or staging a Scottish wedding.
From the moment your guests are greeted by the Castle piper and step inside this fascinating building they will experience the warmest of Scottish welcomes and hospitality.
The magnificent 17th century Drawing Room, where generations of the Strathmore family have entertained their guests, a fire burning in its massive fireplace, will provide a spectacular setting for the start of a gala evening. Guests can then have a leisurely walk through some of the rooms, including the 'Royal Apartments' before moving to the splendid Victorian Dining Room.
For a grand finale to a wonderful evening we would love to arrange for a pipe band to bid farewell to your guests with a memorable 'Beat the Retreat' ceremony.
Please note, this venue is only open for events and does not offer accommodation which will be arranged nearby.
