San Clemente Palace Hotel

A 12th century monastery on a private island near Venice has been transformed into a romantic retreat, ready for your celebration, your wedding or just a memorable romantic getaway.

Transformed from the former Camaldolesi monastery, this luxury hotel shares the 17-acre San Clemente Island exclusively with its namesake, the Church of San Clemente. The 12th century retreat is noted for its impressive Renaissance façade, original frescoes, stunning open courtyards, freshwater outdoor swimming pool and gardens.

San Clemente Palace has numerous venues for weddings and receptions, all showcasing the property's glorious Venetian heritage and enchanting grounds. The Church of San Clemente, which was founded in 1137, is a consecrated Catholic church embellished with original restored frescoes and works of art. Accommodating weddings of up to 150 guests, the church opens on to the resort's private courtyard where an elegant cocktail reception can be staged. This area, with the church façade and Venetian lagoon as a backdrop, also makes for a striking location to exchange or renew vows. It's perfect for warm-weather functions and the elegant “Gli Arrazzi” restaurant can be used in the winter months. The outdoor courtyard can accommodate up to 100 guests seated and 160 guests for cocktails.

For more elaborate celebrations, San Clemente Palace offers six rooms and a total of 5,791 square feet of space, which accommodates up to 250 seated around a dance floor. For smaller gatherings, couples may choose to host festivities in one of the hotel's three elegant restaurants, offering sumptuous décor and delectable contemporary Mediterranean fare.
