Venice, La Serenissima, Queen of the Adriatic, a captivating city of canals and palaces; it is very simply unique.
The Palace, still owned by the Pisani family, was erected in the second half of the 15th century at one of the most attractive points along the Canal Grande, half way between the Bridge of Rialto and the Ca' Foscari's vault.
Built in the Gothic floral style, it underwent several changes and expansions from the early 16th century until mid 18th century, when the last important works were completed and the elaborate Baroque interiors were created by the most outstanding Venetian artists of the 18th century.
In the past centuries the palace was admired by famous visitors including Tsar Paul of Russia, Joséphine Bonaparte and Joseph II of Austria. It was then abandoned for various reasons at the end of the last century, but thanks to the restoration work of the last decade, the Pisani Palace has regained its splendour.
