Conveniently located between Paris and Lyon in Vault de Lugny, a little Burgundian village, the Chateau de Vault-de-Lugny is a historic 16th century dungeon and chateau. It was converted in 1986 into a small country house hotel. Surrounded by green grounds, the hotel offers luxurious accommodation in the relaxing atmosphere, in the area of outstanding natural beauty.
The chateau offers 15 luxurious rooms and suites decorated with tapestry, fine antiques, beamed ceilings, French windows, and wooden furniture; a beautiful view of the medieval tower, the front lawns of the Chateau, or the gardens from the rooms located on the higher floors.
Vault-de-Lugny enjoys an idyllic setting in its own 100-acre grounds, which makes it a perfect venue for fantastic outdoor themed parties, both day and night time.
The chateau is a fine base to explore the serene and the highly celebrated medieval village of Vezelay with its 11th century Romanesque Basilica - one of the most beautiful Roman churches in France, and the Abbey of Fontenay (both Unesco World Heritage sites). There is also a wide choice of leisure activities, from tennis, horse riding, and air ballooning to exquisite wine tasting in the Chablis and Beaune area.
